Real Madrid midfielder Rafael Van der Vaart has revealed he thinks league rivals Barcelona may be becoming a little complacent.

The Merengues currently sit two points behind the Blaugrana at the top of La Liga and the Dutch midfielder is quoted in El Mundo Deportivo as saying he thinks Barca look a little more “calmer” and that “they are human" after they were held at home to Villarreal and lost the first leg of their Copa del Rey encounter to Sevilla.

The former Ajax man also suggested that current coach Manuel Pellegrini was “always positive” and that he “wants to be an important part of Real Madrid.”

Finally, when asked whether he felt he could force his way into the side ahead of Brazilian midfielder Kaka, he replied, “I'm not afraid of anybody, I want to fight and we can also play together.”
