Juan Carlos Garrido, Villarreal B

Villarreal coach Juan Carlos Garrido saw his side continue their push for Europe with a confident 2-0 win overValencia, and admitted their side are still in with a chance of finishing in the Europa League slots.

Giuseppe Rossi and Joseba Llorente netted inside the opening 20 minutes to condemn Los Che to defeat, and leave a straight shoot out with Getafe for sixth spot in the table.

After the match, Garrido was positive about his side’s aspirations, saying, “It was a very good game, and allows the players to regain their self-esteem. The team must keep believing and thinking that our chances [for European qualification] are still open until the last day.

Garrido also commented on the performance of the referee, who dismissed Joseba Llorente and Joan Capdevila in the closing stages of the match.

He added, “The expulsions of the players has been fair, but the team reacted and fought to ensure that the match was in our favour. The team continues to grow, and we are playing a good standard.”

Villarreal and Getafe both have 55 points from their 37 matches played going into the final weekend of the season.
