Barcelona Defender Gerard Pique: Lionel Messi Has Us Spoiled

Barcelona centre back Gerard Pique has stated that the Blaugrana are spoiled by the talents of team-mate Lionel Messi and also said that he expects either his side or title rivals Real Madrid to slip up in one of their league games after Saturday's Clasico showdown.

"We have been amazed many times [by Messi]. We are spoiled. He number one. An example for all and will show it again," Pique told AS.

"I'm sure that one of us will fail in one of the remaining league games."

The 23-year-old defender also drew comparisons between a number of key figures on the Barcelona andReal Madrid teams ahead of the top of the table clash at the Bernabeu.

"Victor Valdes gives us security at the back and keeps a lot of clean sheets and is a great goalkeeper. [Iker] Casillas' track record says it all. Xavi is the essence of Barcelona and [Xabi] Alonso is essential for Madrid, because he gives the side stability and control."
